Resident Crush photographer Henk Hattingh, travelled to Istanbul, Turkey in April this year, he brought back with him a mosaic of incredible pictures and experiences, which inspired this feature. Join Crush on a A Visual Journey of Istanbul Turkey.

Istanbul is a city full of life – bustling markets like Ortakoy where one can sample amazing street food, or Kadikov, reached by boat-taxi, to buy fresh fish, fruit and veggies.

Henk credits the Hagia Sophia as one of the highlights of the trip, ‘Seeing the view of the city and mosque roofs from the inside of the Hagia is amazingly surreal’.

Inspired by the flavours of the of Istanbul markets Henk collaborated with talented, stylist, Illanique van Aswegen to develop four Turkish inspired recipes. The results are almost as beautiful as the destination.
