Italian Jaffles

Description

Why not try these stylish italian jaffles, they’re bellissimo!


Ingredients

4 ciabatta rolls, halved
4 Tbsp (60 ml) basil pesto
2 buffalo mozzarella balls, halved
1 large tomato, thickly sliced
16 basil leaves
salt and pepper
12 slices of Italian cold cuts (coppa, salami, parma ham)
1 Tbsp (15 ml) olive oil


Instructions

Spread the bottom halves of the rolls with pesto, layer with the mozzarella, tomato, basil and cold cuts. Season to taste.
Top with the remaining halves of the rolls and brush the outside of the sandwich with olive oil.
Pop into the jaffle iron, one sandwich at a time, close the jaffle iron and cook over hot coals, or on a preheated plate on the stove top, until golden brown.
