Description

Peppermint Crisp Tart is a South African sweet treat staple – it’s totally delicious! We give this old-fashioned favourite a tasty upgrade.

Ingredients

½ C (125 ml) First Choice Velvet Chocolate Flavoured Dairy Dessert, chilled overnight
1 C (250 ml) fresh cream
1 tin (360 g) Caramel Treat
2 Peppermint Crisp bars, crushed
½ packet regular Tennis biscuits (or try the Choc Mint version for extra minty flavour)

Instructions

Use a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment to whip the First Choice Velvet Chocolate Flavoured Dairy Dessert for 5 minutes on high speed until light and fluffy.

Whip the cream until soft peaks form and then fold the caramel treat into the cream to combine.

Blitz or finely crush the Tennis biscuits.

To assemble, add a layer of crushed Tennis biscuits to the bottom of each glass and top with a sprinkling of crushed Peppermint Crisp. Add a layer of the whipped cream and caramel mix and then top with more biscuits and Peppermint Crisp. Add a layer of whipped First Choice Velvet Chocolate Flavoured Dairy Dessert and repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glasses. Store the cups in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving. Garnish with a final layer of crushed biscuits and Peppermint Crisp just before serving – this helps keep the top layer crunchy.
