Flagstone Wines have always pushed the boundaries with both their wines, as well as their experiences and their latest efforts prove their ability to stay on top. The brand opened the doors to their unique inner city wine tasting experience just a few short months ago; instead of having to go to the Winelands to try their wines, you can now head to Greenpoint for the full experience. The Flagstone Tasting Room @ The Rockwell Hotel in Greenpoint is a uniquely positioned and appeals to both visiting tourists and locals alike. You can taste the Flagstone selection of wines as well as purchase directly from the tasting room. 

“In a city like Cape Town, we are spoilt for choice and have access to some of the world’s best wines and we are excited to open a second tasting room and bring our wines to the city in partnership with The Rockwell Hotel. We want the new Flagstone Tasting Room to celebrate all forms of creativity,” comments National Sales and Marketing Manager, Alison Pearce.

The tasting room is also home to a unique artwork piece by local artists Gabrielle Raaff and Justin Fiske, who were commissioned to create this installation depicting the rich heritage that inspired Flagstone Wines, all stemming from one core element: CREATIVITY.

And to further explore this creativity, Flagstone Wines, together with The Rockwell Hotel and Artjamming™ presents Wine Jam, which takes place on the last Wednesday of every month in the Urban Garden of the Rockwell Hotel. 

Wine jammers are provided with an A3 size canvas, easels, a choice of non-toxic acrylic paints on tap, brushes and tools to freely express themselves. We took part in a recent Wine Jam and can attest to the fact that it is a whole lot of fun and a real expression of creativity, even for those who think they don’t have a creative bone in their body. The Flagstone mantra #weareborncreative is showcased in this innovative and fun series of monthly events. 

Each month Wine Jammers will create a different themed painting, which artists will guide them through step by step, so no drawing or painting skills are required. You just need a sense of fun and the ability to express yourself in a fun, relaxed environment.

All guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of Flagstone Wine on arrival to ease(l) you into the class. 

The Rockwell Hotel will be offering a 2 for 1 burger special for all Wine Jammers on the evening with the opportunity to purchase a specially curated wine tasting from the Flagstone Tasting Room: 6 pre-selected wines for R45.

We highly recommend a Wine Jam session as a fun night with friends, a unique date night, or even a team building experience. With wine flowing and people expressing themselves it can only be a recipe for entertainment.
