Krispy Kreme coming to South Africa
If you say you don’t like doughnuts, you are lying… or you are just crazy. Unfortunately for all of us who are trying to get summer ready, Krispy Kreme has just announced it will be opening its first store in Africa. Fortunately for those who live in Cape Town or Durban, the first store is opening in Johannesburg. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts South Africa (Pty) Ltd has however committed to opening 31 Krispy Kreme shops in South Africa over the next five years.
The first store will be opened in Rosebank, Johannesburg at a location yet to be disclosed. This marks the company’s first venture into Africa. The city of Johannesburg is widely considered the window into the African market and is a melting pot of cultures, races as well as nationalities. It was only natural than that Africa’s economic hub be chosen as the first home for the first ever Krispy Kreme store in Africa.
People visiting the store will have an option of 16 decadent Krispy Kreme doughnuts, as well as a wide variety of locally roasted coffee flavours to treat themselves to.
