Cumin Spiced Lamb Koftas

Description

These spicy lamb meatballs served on a stick is simply delicious!


Ingredients

1 Tbsp (15ml) ground cumin
2 tsp (10 ml) ground coriander
1 tsp (5 ml) turmeric
500 g lamb mince
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
juice and zest of 1 lemon
salt and freshly ground pepper
handful each of mint, parsley and coriander
1 egg
12 bamboo skewers


Instructions

Place the cumin, coriander and turmeric into a dry frying pan and lightly toast the spices for a minute or two until fragrant.
Place all of the ingredients into a bowl and using your hand’s mix until well combined.
Form oval shaped meatballs onto the end of each bamboo skewer and set aside to rest in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Heat a little oil in a frying pan and gently fry the koftas for a few minutes on each side or until well browned and cooked through.
Serve with tzatziki or baba ganoush and lemon wedges.
