The Blend East City Eatery

Blend_8

The Blend is a little hole-in-the-wall eatery and coffee shop on Roeland Street and is the perfect place to start off a weekday morning. Offering up a few different varieties of coffee blends and cold-pressed juices for those who are not-too-keen on caffeinating, this is the perfect little spot to kick back and catch-up on your people watching or magazine reading while sipping on a fragrant Americano. Or why not grab a cuppa to-go if you are in a hurry. The shop has free wi-fi and a great selection of recent magazines to wile the time away.

The kitchen has recently been expanded and offers a variety of meals and brekkie’s that can all be ordered all day long. If breakfast for lunch is your thing, pull in! From poached eggs with sourdough, rocket, avo & feta to big fry-ups, burgers and wraps there is something for everyone. Or pick something up from the ready-made deli fridge if you need to get back to your desk.

We had a breakfast wrap and the delicious pesto poached eggs – two perfectly poached eggs on toast with pesto, rocket and roasted cherry tomatoes. The food arrived quickly and was super fresh – I barely had time to get stuck into the magazine I was reading when I got to tuck in to my food instead.

The road-side window seating is the perfect spot to people watch and gives the spot a real San Francisco relaxed feel. Frequented by office workers and designers alike this coffee shop has something for everyone and the early opening times make it the perfect place to enjoy a slow start to your morning. And R10 for a small coffee before 10h00 makes it an affordable one too!
