Rhino Tears Wine

Words: Crush

Mt Vernon Rhino Tears wine came about after the meeting of three men who are passionate about the conservation of rhinos. John Hooper, MD at Mt Vernon wines, met John Turner, Chairman of the SANParks Honorary Rangers Conservation Services Unit and Andre Nel, owner of The Hat & Creek restaurants in Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa. After spending a couple of days with the field rangers at the Kruger Wilderness Experience bush camp, the idea for a wine that could raise money for anti-poaching efforts was developed.

Rhino Tears Wine
Rhino Tears wine is produced by Mt Vernon Wine Estate near Stellenbosch; the red blend is an easy drinking wine made from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage grapes. The white is a delightful, fruit driven Chenin Blanc, suitable for enjoying at any occasion.

A portion of sales from every single bottle sold (R15 per bottle) goes directly to the Unite Against Poaching initiative of the SANParks Honorary Rangers to be used in anti-poaching projects. Rhino Tears wine can also be purchased in major retailers around the country and is also available to purchase online.

To support this amazing initiative, pick up a bottle, or better yet purchase a case right HERE. The cost is R700 for a full case (12 bottles incl. delivery) and can be delivered countrywide.
