The streets; where not only the city, but also local cultures come alive. Where languages, lives and customs collide and the most important factor becomes FOOD. Some of South Africa’s best street food vendors and will once again be serving up street treats at the Side Street Studios, 48 Albert Road, in Woodstock on Sunday 26 July.

Cow cheeks, mielies, samoosas, shisa nyama, bunny chows, gatsbys, rotis and vetkoek will be ready and waiting for the hungry and the adventurous at this year’s Street Food Festival. You will have the opportunity to not only try new things but also rediscover classics created with love.
Showcasing many of Cape Town’s favourites, be prepared to chow down on all the goodness that Max Bagels has to offer, the heavily dark brews of The Department of Coffee, the little wrapped bundles of joy that Didi’s Burritos has to offer, the tasty delights from Meisies Kitchen food truck, Southern Smoke’s unforgettable meat, and Argies’ proper Argentinean asado.

The day finally culminates in a dinner designed to celebrate African cuisine:

Nigerian Bitter Leaf Soup
Malawian Grilled Talapia with Nsima (pap)
Zimbabwean Mopani worms
Somali style Kid meat stew
Ghanaian Plantain milkshakes
