After five years of intense research and development at some of the biggest laboratories in the world, The Skin Co. has opened its first physical store in Green Point, Cape Town in January 2019. This original South African concept makes The Skin Co. the first ingestible cosmetic health food bar and store in the world, with plans in the pipeline to expand globally.

All About The Skin Co.

The business is ultimately made up of parent company, The Skin Co. and three auxiliary arms. There’s the restaurant that serves gourmet plant-based, seasonal and locally sourced Fairtrade dishes that all include one or more cosmetic ingestible.

These ingestibles are made up of Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and Resveratrol. All food grade and safe for human consumption.

Cold Pressed Skin

The second sub-brand, Cold Pressed Skin, brings food and science together to create an active superfood skincare range suitable for all skin types. With the belief that what you put on your skin is as important as what you put in your body, this is juice for your skin.

Ingredients in each of the six products in the range are all natural, raw, vegan, cruelty-free, and include cold-pressed cosmetic oils and extracts.

In much the same way as juicing great ingredients does wonders for your body, this skincare range will do wonders for your skin. The range is loaded with bio actives, antioxidants, and skin-loving phytonutrients and made up of a cleanser, brightening serum, probiotic face mist, superfood moisturiser, face and body oil.

Instinctive By Nature

Instinctive by Nature is a natural skincare and beauty collection made with advanced natural and organic formulas to deliver a skincare range that promotes long term skin health. Again, all ingredients are natural, raw, vegan, and cruelty-free.

The range consists of tanning and antioxidant body oils, slimming lotions designed with a plant stem cell system to target fat cells while protecting and regenerating the skin from UV damage, and another to boost melanin production in the body.

The Skin Co. production facility is ECOCERT approved, further enhancing the company’s vision to do as little harm as possible while offering a high-quality, affordable product suitable for all skin types.
