Peanut Butter Bourbon Hot Chocolate

Description

The camping nightcap trifecta – peanut butter, bourbon and chocolate. This adult boozy hot choccie that is sure to be hit around the fire.


Ingredients

Peanut Butter Bourbon Hot Chocolate

3 C (750 ml)  full cream milk
1 C (250 ml) fresh cream
¼ C (60 ml) cocoa powder
½ C (125 ml) smooth peanut butter
3 Tbsp (45 ml) honey or syrup
150 g dark chocolate, finely chopped
23 Tbsp (3045 ml) bourbon

To Serve

whipped cream
mini marshmallows


Instructions

Peanut Butter Bourbon Hot Chocolate

Add the milk, cream, cocoa powder, peanut butter, honey and bourbon to a medium sized pot over medium heat. Whisk while heating to combine until smooth. Heat until you see bubbles forming around the edge of the mixture, then remove the pot from the heat. Add the chopped chocolate and the bourbon let it sit in the warm liquid for 2-3 minutes to melt then whisk to combine.

To serve, pour the hot chocolate into mugs, then top with whipped cream and marshmallows. Even a shaving of extra dark chocolate wouldn’t go amiss!
