The 41 Has Officially Launched Jazz On The Bay
Don’t let the winter blues get you down! The 41 in Camps Bay is offering Jazz on the Bay once a month through winter, giving guests a reason to celebrate in style whilst sipping on the finest wines, enjoying a beachfront cuisine second to none.
Jazz On The Bay
Master cuisine extraordinaire, Chef Aristotle, and international hospitality tycoon, Gilles Blanc, together present a winter set menu of five Asian inspired courses made with fresh local ingredients, paired perfectly with Mud House wine, cultivated in the cool climatic region of South Island, New Zealand. The unique soils and landscape brings intensity and precision of flavour. Flagstone Wines, another cultivator featured in the Jazz on the Bay series, are produced under the philosophy of ‘while vines need to be pruned, ideas must be left to grow wild’. Live Jazz performances by local jazz artists will set the evening’s ambience.
The Menu
The first Jazz on the Bay kicked off with a live performance by Dan Shout. We enjoyed a glass of Da Lucca Prosecco upon arrival, and after being seated, we were served Tuna Tartare, Lavash Bread with Herb Aioli paired with a glass of Free Run Sauvignon Blanc to welcome the palate.
For our starter, we enjoyed a Butternut, Coriander and Coconut Soup paired with the Two Roads Chardonnay. This was followed by a Calamari, Pesto and Potato Nest paired with the Treaty Tree Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon blend.
For our main course, we were served an Ostrich Ragu Thai Curry served with Beetroot Chips accompanied by the Mud House Pinot Noir. Finally, wrapping up the evening was a decadent indulgence of Aphrodisiac Crème Brûlée served with the new Bees Knees Sauvignon Blanc. In July, guests will be serenaded by the sounds of Marc de Kock, followed by Amy Campbell and her band in August.
A fruitful amass of flavour celebrations for the discerning diner, this jazzy event on the Bay offers locals a reason to dress up and get out the house. Booking in advance is essential.
