Easy Easter Entertaining
To Start: Smoked Snoek Paté With Mustard-Pickled Cucumber
For easy Easter entertaining (or indeed anytime), the key is make-ahead dishes that only improve as they stand. This snoek paté falls into that category. You can whip it up in mere minutes and it packs an extra flavour punch thanks to a generous sprinkling of Cape Herb & Spice Lemon Pepper Shaker Seasoning.
Serve it with dark seed loaf, rye or pumpernickel bread and super quick mustard-pickled cucumber ribbons. If you’re not able to get your hands on smoked snoek, smoked mackerel is an excellent substitute. Fresh, light, tasty and healthy, this one ticks pretty much all the boxes.

Mains: Roast Beef Fillet with Pangrattata Crust
When it comes to special occasion food, few things beat beef fillet. The most tender of all beef cuts, fillet simply melts in the mouth. Which is why it’s such a good idea to balance it with crunch in the form of a pangrattata crust.
Pangrattata derives its name from the Italian for breadcrumbs. In its simplest form, it’s just stale breadcrumbs toasted in a pan with olive oil and a clove of garlic. The resultant golden tastiness is most often encountered sprinkled over pasta, hence its nickname ‘poor man’s Parmesan’.
But there is so much more you can do with pangrattata. Sprinkle it over risotto, soft fried eggs, over fine green beans – the options are endless. Alternatively, really ramp things up as we’ve done here and use pangrattata to cover a fillet of beef. The addition of Cape Herb & Spice’s Mediterranean Rub elevates this pangrattata to new levels of yumminess and it’struly easy to make, perfect for effortless Easter entertaining.

Sides: Ultimate S&P Roast Potatoes
Roast potatoes are a winner for dinner no but even more so when they accompany a fabulous roast like our pangrattata-crusted fillet of beef. The secret to making the perfect roast potato is simple – seriously floury potatoes, pre-boiling and semi-smashing, followed by intense heat and a bit of fat.
Duck fat gets our vote any day, but if you can’t find it or avoid it for health reasons, good old vegetable oil does the trick too. Show these crunchy golden nuggets of deliciousness some S&P Shaker Seasoning love and you’re done!
