Festive Feasting with Certified South African Wagyu Beef
The festive season is no longer around the corner, it’s officially here. Time for gathering with family and friends, holding an appetiser in one hand and a summer cocktail in another. If you’re looking for the perfect menu for festive parties and New Year celebrations, we’ve created four delicious appetisers that showcase the versatility of Certified South African Wagyu Beef, and will be an absolute hit with all your party guests.
Wagyu Society of South Africa
Wagyu has taken the world by storm, and we have the Wagyu Society of South Africa to thank for its popularity across the nation, and for ensuring that local consumers have access to prime Wagyu beef. It’s arguably the most sought-after protein and for good reason.
Wagyu beef is praised for its beautiful white marbled appearance, otherwise known as the intramuscular fat found within muscle fibres. The evenly distributed fat results in invariably flavourful beef, and also means that you end up with a juicy piece of meat, every time.
Whether cooking a succulent Wagyu Sirloin Steak or using Wagyu Mince as filling for savoury treats, you can’t go wrong with this specialty beef. We’ve created four delicious appetisers that are ideal for entertaining friends and family over the festive season.
Sirloin Steak with 15-Hour Potatoes
If ever there was a meal we could never grow tired of, this would be it! Tender Wagyu Sirloin Steak topped with a deliciously smoky sundried tomato drizzle. Simply divine!
We love that this appetiser can be made with simple ingredients, allowing the incredible Wagyu Sirloin flavours to shine.
To make this dish even tastier, we’ve paired it with the best potatoes ever, also known as the ’15-hour potatoes’ recipe from TikTok. These satisfyingly crunchy, duck-fat coated potatoes might require a little effort to prepare but will certainly impress guests. Wagyu Sirloin has a delicious flavour on its own, so we’ve simply seasoned with sea salt and drizzled with olive oil before cooking the steaks to medium-rare perfection. Plate it on a serving board for easy entertaining, top with tomato drizzle and garnish with micro herbs. Tuck in and make sure you mop up all those delicious pan juices with the Wagyu Sirloin Steak.

Wagyu Mince Samoosas
Samoosas – the one thing South Africans can’t get enough of! It’s the appetiser we all look forward to eating at family gatherings and instantly makes celebrations tastier.
Infused with classic Cape Malay spices, these beefy pockets of flavour will become your go-to appetiser for special occasions.
Lovely aromas of ground cumin, coriander and garam masala combined with garlic, ginger and chilli come together in these sensational samoosas. With regular ground beef mince, you always run the risk of ending up with hard and dried-out mince, using Wagyu Mince ensures a deliciously tender samoosa filling. Create a garlicky and zesty yoghurt dipping sauce, and top with pistachios and fresh coriander for herby goodness. Crunchy and fried to golden perfection, this is bite-sized deliciousness at its best!

Cheesy Pretzel Roll Sliders
Burgers will never be the same after you try these mean sliders. Deliciously juicy Wagyu Slider Patties hugged by pretzel buns for a fun twist – perfect as a party snack, or simply enjoy while lazing around the pool these holidays.
We’ve upped the flavour on this by using Wagyu Slider Patties and swapping out the cheddar for a melted Swiss-style cheese, raclette.
Nothing beats a classic American-style slider. They’re ideal for family-style dinners or casual get-togethers with friends. Imagine pretzel buns topped with juicy Wagyu Slider Patties and a delicious chilli crisp mayo – because who doesn’t love a bit of heat? Sizzle and sear the Wagyu Slider Patties and add a dollop of that delectable chilli crisp mayo. Lastly, garnish with ripe tomato slices, red onion rings and pickles before serving – it doesn’t get more simple than this! Relish the flavours and be transported to Wagyu heaven.

Festive Bruschetta
Whether you’re hosting a weekend social or New Year’s Eve party, these fabulously festive canapés were made for entertaining friends and family.
Wagyu Denver Steak comes from the neck and chuck part of the beef cattle, it’s a newer cut that is immensely flavourful and perfectly marbled that makes for a succulent Wagyu steak.
Want to impress guests, but don’t quite have the time or energy? This incredibly delicious Festive Bruschetta is the answer to your prayers. Toasted baguette topped with a delectable blue cheese, cream cheese base complemented by garlicky marinated baby tomatoes, and Wagyu Denver Steak – a recipe for pure enjoyment. Once cooked to perfection, we’ve topped the toasted baguette slices with a schmear of our creamy base, added slices of steak and garnished with our marinated tomato mix and micro greens for an elevated appearance.
