Description

This speedy chocolate mug cake is made in only 5 minutes and is as impressive as it is delicious!

Ingredients

Mug Cake

Melted butter, for greasing the serving cups/coffee mugs
¼ C (60 ml) flour
¼ C (60 ml) NOMU Hot Chocolate Powder
1 Tbsp (15 ml) castor sugar
1 egg
½ tsp (2.5 ml) NOMU Vanilla Extract
Pinch of salt
2 Tbsp (30 ml) butter, melted

2 tsp (10 ml) crunchy peanut butter (optional)
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Hot Chocolate Sauce (optional)

¾ C (190 ml) cream
¾ C (190 ml) NOMU Hot Chocolate
1 tsp (5 ml) NOMU Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Mug Cake

Lightly grease 2 serving cups/coffee mugs.

Place the flour, New NOMU Hot Chocolate (Just Add Water) and castor sugar into a bowl and mix to combine.

In a separate bowl whisk together the egg, NOMU Vanilla Extract, salt and melted butter.

Add the wet ingredients, excluding the peanut butter, to the dry ingredients and mix to form a smooth batter.

Pour some of the batter into the greased serving mugs, fill half way.

Place a teaspoon of peanut butter into the centre of the batter in each cup and pour in the remaining batter until each mug is ¾ full.

Microwave for about 1½ minutes on high (note: cooking time may vary slightly depending on the strength of your microwave).

Remove from the microwave and serve immediately with some hot chocolate sauce, topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Hot Chocolate Sauce (optional)

Place all of the ingredients into a saucepan and whisk until smooth.

Bring to a simmer and continue to whisk for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
