Boschendal Heritage Day Farm Feast 2018

Boschendal Heritage Day Farm Feast

Heritage Day, is fast approaching and if you’re still looking for something incredible to do, then you’re in luck. One of the Cape’s premier wine and foodie destinations will be hosting their fourth annual event, yes it’s time for the Boschendal Heritage Day Farm Feast.

The Boschendal Heritage Day Farm Feast is a celebration of farm fresh produce and the best way to describe it is – a long table feast of medieval proportions. We’re talking a continuous stream of trays piled with meat, vegetables, salads and baked goods. And the best part is, everything comes straight from the farm to you.

What To Expect At The Boschendal Heritage Day Farm Feast

This year’s long table will seat 250 guests. Families young and old can look forward to enjoying a seasonal harvest style feast, live music by Yolanda Y’awa and various kids activities. The menu will include port rillet, hummus, chicken liver spread, Angus beef hot links, Werf Butchery salami, farmed baked ciabatta and butter, Werf foraged spring garden salad, ricotta as well as an 18hr grass-fed beef pistolas.

If you’ve ever read or heard anything about Boschendal’s cows, then you’ll know that they are not just any old cows. The farm has an all-natural approach; it’s farming the way it used to be done and the proof is in the flavour of the beef.

This ethos is carried through into their garden and it’s one of the most impressive vegetable patches you’ll ever see. All the salads and vegetable dishes at the feast will come fresh out of the ground.
