The Robertson Wine Valley Festival comes to Gauteng
On 1 & 2 August, the Robertson Wine Valley Festival comes to Gauteng with a two-day festival at Kievits Kroon Country Estate, just outside of Pretoria, showcasing dozens of wineries and wine cellars from in and around the Robertson area, including Ashton, McGregor and Bonnievale.
With its lush manicured lawns, beautiful rose beds, landscaped gardens and Cape Dutch-style Manor House, Kievits Kroon is reminiscent of the Cape wine estates, and is known as ‘the Winelands in Gauteng’ – the perfect setting in which to enjoy the fine wines synonymous with the Robertson Valley and surrounds. Visitors to the festival will be able to meet the personalities behind their favourite brands, sample a plethora of wines and purchase them at excellent prices. There will be fun and entertainment for the whole family. Tutored tastings presented by the Cape Wine Academy will be on offered twice per day. There will be no charge for these tastings however patrons are strongly advised to book their seats on arrival at the festival venue in order to avoid disappointment.
To complement the delectable fruits of the vine on offer festival goers are invited to shop at, and explore, our fine living market featuring the finest artisanal and fresh produce, handmade crafts and vintage antiques sourced from the Robertson valley and local traders for example, wooden cheese boards, leather goods, organic candles and much more. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with a selection of freshly brewed organic coffees, mouth-watering cheeses, olives, confectionery, charcuterie, artisanal breads, fresh produce and handmade pantry and deli ranges. The estate’s ‘no children under 14’ policy will be relaxed for the weekend to permit entry to children of all ages. Children can join the fun and games in our supervised, enclosed children’s entertainment area from 09h30 until 16h00 for just R150 per child, including a snack pack, whilst mom and dad relax at the festival. The area will be ablaze with colourful decor and plenty of activities to keep the little ones busy, and minders will ensure that they are kept well hydrated during the time in the play area.
The festival will be open from 10h00 to 16h00 on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets will be on sale at the gate, but may be prebooked via www.webtickets.co.za. Tickets are available at Early Bird prices until 26 July at R150 per person per day or R280 for the weekend. Thereafter tickets will be R200 per person per day or R350 for a weekend pass.
