Lanzerac is thrilled to announce the launch of their new seasonal summer menu that is set to showcase the best of South African produce. The new menu will please the palates of both international and local guests visiting the historic estate and restaurant over the summer months.

Executive Chef Stephen Fraser and his talented team have been hard at work to provide a truly world-class dining experience, and to come up with a Lanzerac summer menu that will captivate the tastes of all who visit the main restaurant, the Manor Kitchen.

 What to Expect from the New Menu

The starters on the new menu are a fantastic mix of flavours, favourites and fun. It includes a range of light and healthy choices such as the Salad of Exotic Mushrooms, Blackened cured Salmon and Tuna Tartare, as well as inventive inclusions like the Venison Carpaccio with bone marrow, smoked ice-cream, nasturtium, radish and rye.

You can also expect reinventions of old classics like the Cream of Potato Soup served with a duck egg, flaked snoek, pea, champagne mustard and wild garlic ketchup.

There is nothing ordinary about the starters at the Manor Kitchen and Chef Stephen is positive the choices will set the tone for an unforgettable meal.

The new Lanzerac summer menu goes on to offer a hearty choice of main courses from a Noisette of Lamb, Sirloin of Beef and Duck Breast to name a few.

Each of the dishes offer an explosion of flavour and include local ingredients that add an extraordinary zing to well-known favourites, such as the Herb Rolled Salmon with avocado veloutè, lemon, apple, pickled cauliflower and buchu oil, or the Loin of Venison served with confit sweet potato, pumpkin seed crumble, beetroot, Spekboom and passion fruit.

The passionate and experienced chef, who learnt his trade in some of the best kitchens in the world –  The Trafalgar in London and Kempinski St. Moritz in Switzerland – has spent ten years working to elevate the food produced on the estate to match the style, taste and understated elegance of this renowned establishment.
