Description

Serve Lamb Koftas warm or cold with toasted pitas, tzatziki, hummus and baba ghanoush.

Ingredients

500 g lamb mince
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp (5 ml) ground cumin
2 tsp (10 ml) ground coriander
½ tsp (2.5 ml) ground cinnamon
juice and zest of 1 lemon
handful of parsley, roughly chopped
small handful of mint, roughly chopped
1 egg
salt and freshly milled black pepper

Instructions

Mix all the ingredients, except the egg and seasoning, in a glass bowl. Add the egg and mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper and divide the mixture into 16 portions. Shape the portions into ovals, using cupped hands, and keep to one side. Heat a griddle pan and cook the koftas for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until just cooked through.

Serve warm or cold with toasted pitas, tzatziki, hummus and baba ghanoush.
