Description

This healthy homemade seed bread serves as a perfect breakfast, lunch or snack.

Ingredients

½ C (125 ml) crushed wheat
1 C (250 ml) brown bread flour
1 C (250 ml) white bread flour
½ C (125 ml) oats
2 C (500 ml) mixed seeds, crushed
1 egg
C (375 ml) fat-free milk
1 Tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil
1 tsp (5 ml) bicarbonate of soda
½ tsp (2.5 ml) salt

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Lightly grease a bread loaf tin.

Place all the dry ingredients into a bowl and set aside.

Whisk the egg, milk and oil together until combined and add to the flour mix. Mix well until combined and pour into the prepared loaf tin. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes or until the bread has risen and is golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin. Serve warm or lightly toasted with butter and preserves.
