Celebrating Valdo Prosecco & Pasta this World Pasta Month
Italians are known for their unapologetic celebration of life, family and delicious food. Some of the greatest gifts the Italians share with the world are Prosecco & pasta. While we all have our favourite pasta dish, many of us aren’t as familiar with this Italian drink and often think it’s just another bubbly.
What distinguishes Prosecco from another sparkling wine is that it’s produced at the UNESCO heritage site found amongst the rolling hills of Valdobiadene, just north of Venice. Valdo proudly established its winery in the heart of Prosecco Country in 1926.
Allow Valdo to take you on a culinary journey of Prosecco & pasta pairings in honour of World Pasta Day, 25 October. Valdo will transport you to Italy without leaving the borders of SA and encourage you to celebrate the everyday occasion.
A Culture of Excellence Since 1926
Valdo has refined the art of making fine Prosecco through a culture of superior taste & knowledge earned through hard work and tireless passion. A beautiful expression of Italian provenance and an almost effervescent experience to be shared with friends and family alike, Valdo truly is the quintessential expression of authentic Prosecco. It is from this passion that Valdo instils its true essence of pure gold – Oro Puro – into every bottle that is created.
Valdo’s authentic range offers a fresh, fruity & fragrant bouquet allowing for versatile food pairings. This World Pasta Month we explore the versatility of this wine through some gourmet pasta pairings.
Pasta & Prosecco Pairings
Red Pepper & Mussel Tagliatelle
The Valdo Prosecco Marca Oro is a great accompaniment to this beautiful pasta. The red pepper flavours will pair perfectly with the fresh crisp style of Prosecco and the mussels will draw on the mineral component coming from the terroir of the Conegliano, Italy.
Green Olive, Caper & Herb Pasta with Crunchy Pangrattato
This crunchy & flavourful pasta pairs well with Valdo Prosecco Marca Oro. The herbaceous salty flavours of this dish is a delicious contrast to the natural plush fruity flavours of apple and pear present in the wine.
