Babylonstoren

Babylonstoren is not only a visual delight but also a pioneer in sustainable agriculture, with its enchanting gardens and breathtaking landscapes. Established in 1692, the farm is renowned for its premium extra virgin olive oil. Produced from 13 olive cultivars, ranging from delicate Frantoio to fruity Coratina, their olive oil tasting experience is ideal for first-timers.

Guests can join their Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar Tour for a guided journey through their balsamic cellar. This is followed by a tasting of their table olives and ends with an olive oil tasting session. Guests are also given a 100 ml sample of each olive oil to take home.

Baleia Wines & Olive Oil

At Baleia, an enchanting olive oil experience awaits visitors. The first groves, grown from Tuscan cultivars, were planted in 2008. Although there isn’t a formal tasting tour offered at the estate, guests are treated to a sampling session of their exceptional products.

The Baleia Director’s Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a harmonious mix of 90% Coratina and 10% Frantoio, offers a sophisticated flavour profile, with green tomato and asparagus aromas and a touch of lemon freshness. Meanwhile, the Baleia Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a blend of Coratina, Favolosa (FS-17), and Leccino olives, showcases distinctive aromas and buttery, bitter and peppery notes. Tasting sessions are free of charge; bread samples are sometimes offered to larger groups.

Darling Olives

Nestled in the charming town of Darling, this family-owned farm is committed to preserving the heritage of local olive cultivation. The olive trees grow near the Atlantic Ocean – the distinctive taste is a reflection of the unique terroir. Darling Olives focuses on producing extra virgin olive oil and table olives from the Mission cultivar, one of the most popular varieties in South Africa.

De Rustica Olive Estate

Situated in De Rust, De Rustica Olive Estate showcases a seamless blend of traditional and innovative cultivation methods. Part of their estate collection is their Coratina EVOO, which was awarded ‘Absolute Best Olive Oil’ at the 2023 EVOOLEUM Awards in Spain.

Willow Creek Olive Estate

In the landscape of local olive oil, Willow Creek stands out as one of the most recognised brands. Visit their estate in Worcester for a comprehensive tasting of their complete product range, which includes extra virgin olive oils, flavoured olive oils, balsamic vinegar, table olives and olive pastes.
