Baking with WoodenSpoon Margarine
Time spent in the kitchen with family is precious. The experience of measuring out the ingredients, mixing them together, the laugher whilst sneaking little tastes here and there and waiting for the final product all create lifelong memories for children and parents. We whip up four delicious sweet and savoury recipes using WoodenSpoon white and yellow margarine to show the versatility of this fabulous baking marg.
Four Recipes with WoodenSpoon
Cappuccino Chocolate Chunk Muffins
We love a good cup of Joe with a muffin and in this recipe, we up the ante and add coffee in our muffin mix too – coffee addicts, we know. We’ve infused the batter of these muffins with coffee and added plenty of dark chocolate chunks. Best enjoyed with friends around a pot of your favourite blend.
Peanut Butter and Jam Sandwich Cookies
We’ve taken our favourite childhood sandwich and made it into a delectable cookie. Delish peanut butter biscuits are sandwiched together with a nutty PB icing and then topped with strawberry jam. Top with another biscuit and tuck in; make extra, we promise you won’t be able to stop at just one.
Cheesy Pull-Apart Bread with Bovril Drizzle
Keeping with our theme of childhood classics, we’ve taken a lunchbox favourite and made it into a rather more adult version. A good old Bovril and cheese sarmie is transformed into a cheesy pull-apart bread that makes for a showstopping centrepiece at your next braai or gathering. With a slathering of melted marg and Bovril drizzle, this bread is sure to become a favourite.
Mini Malva Puddings
Malva pudding is a South African favourite. We’ve given it a slightly more glam look by cooking individually, rather than as one large pudding. This method takes this family classic to smart dinner-party status. Plate individually for each guest and top generously with luscious folds of vanilla bean custard.
