Springfield Miss Lucy 2014

If you’re one of the many people who love white wines on the greener side, this is for you. This blend of 46% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon and 19% Pinot Gris is packed with green pepper and grapefruit flavours. It is deliciously fresh with a crisp light finish, and the best part is the 12,3% abv, making it a little easier to handle the second bottle. The label of this wine immediately suggests enjoyment with seafood – and it really is  a spot-on match. ‘Miss Lucy’ is a nickname given to Red Stumpnose by fisherman on the South Coast. Unfortunately like so many other species, it is now on the critically endangered list. But we can at least celebrate its once bountiful appearance by adding this wine to our seafood feasts. And should your loved one be named Lucy, well than you’ve hit the jackpot.
