Olyfberg receives gold at 2013 SA Olive Awards

Words: Crush

Olyfberg Olive Products are a sure favourite in the Crush office. Situated on the Breede River in the Western Cape, South Africa, Olyfberg produce high quality, hand-picked and affordable olive products.

Olyfberg’s medium fruity extra virgin 2013 olive oil took home the gold at the 8th annual SA Olive Awards, which was held on the 21st August 2013.  This year, the judges received a record number of olive oil entries, which in total came to over a hundred different oils to be tasted and judged.

Olyfberg’s proud new manager, Pieter Kruger, was extremely pleased with Olyfberg’s achievement and had this to say: “Olyfberg is proud to receive such an accolade, especially in today’s growing olive industry where the quality of oils and level of competition are improving exponentially.”

“We believe in a dual focus – quality of product and affordability.  Both fine and poor quality oils can come from good fruit, but you cannot produce superior quality oil from poor quality fruit.  At Olyfberg we are proud of our quality trademark and continued success and we will never enter a product to the market if we are not completely satisfied with its excellence,” describes Kruger.

Olyfberg and CANSA join hands for the battle against cancer

Olyfberg and the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) recently teamed up in the battle against cancer.  Olyfberg will now donate R2 to cancer research for every litre of their Extra Virgin Olive Oil sold.  Keep a lookout for the CANSA Smart Choice sticker on the Olyfberg Extra Virgin Olive Oil bottles.
