Nomad Bistro & Bar Relaunches with Live Entertainment

Words: Crush

With a new name to go with the newly-launched weekly event nights, Nomad Bistro & Bar, formerly known as Nomad Bistro Fusion, located on 33 Waterkant Street in Cape Town CBD, has relaunched with a bang. Wednesday, 8 February 2017 saw an influx of socialites testing out the new concept.

Mohit Sureka, owner of Nomad Bistro & Bar explains that the name change was simply the next step in the evolution of the bistro.

“We are not just a restaurant, we do offer delicious bistro food and tapas that reflects casual dining in a sophisticated setting during the day but we’ve moved into the nightlife scene with our exceptional drink specials and new weekly events with local DJ’s and musicians.”

Sureka owns Nomad Bistro & Bar together with Sunil Krishnan, who already has five well-known, authentic Indian restaurants under his belt.

Wednesday saw the likes of Herschelle Gibbs, Soli Philander and Jaye Keys at the relaunch. Hendricks Gin prepared the perfect G&T’s and Patron Tequila margaritas were offered as welcome drinks. Astrafunk and the Space Cats filled the house with encapsulating funk music to create the ultimate atmosphere for guests to party the night away.

Hosting weekly events on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the relaunch was just a taste of what’s to come. On Thursdays, Live at Nomad, takes over with live entertainment from local artists and bands. Friday Feels Nomad kicks off with deep house music, with well-known DJ’s to set the tone for the weekend and Saturdays see Sessions at Nomad with local DJ’s from 21h00 – 01h00. On all three nights, guests can indulge in the tapas special of five tapas for R225 and Fridays and Saturdays cocktails are R70 for two. Signature beer and wine popsicles are also available as an added extra treat.
