No Ordinary Journey For Jura Scotch Whisky
It’s the journey that makes Jura whisky a long way from ordinary. Theirs begins on the island’s tallest mountains, the Paps of Jura. The wild mountains filter the water down to Market Loch below. It’s this water that makes its way to their distillery and helps shape their unique Single Malt .
Jura has some of the tallest stills of any island distillery. Shipping them to their remote island home wasn’t easy. However, the taller the stills the purer the spirit. Their iconic, seafaring bottles with their rounded edges were historically designed to withstand the roughest of journeys from our home to the furthermost corners of the globe.
3 new expressions of Jura: Journey, 10 and Seven Wood
These exceptional single malts are a balanced collection of unique whiskies, with subtle smoky notes and a sweet Sherry cask finish.
The Ideal Introduction to a world of flavour, subtle smoke and sweetness in perfect balance.
It’s the journey, not the destination that shapes Jura. The path from their foundation to the rebirth of their distillery in 1963 has shaped the character of their community and the whisky they produce. This road has led them to their own unique style, matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels.
A trademark 10-year-old malt whisky for the modern drinker; smooth smoky sherry sweetness. A whisky only Jura could make, born of their island and still produced today in a bottle originally shaped to withstand the roughest of journeys from their home.
Crafted in exceptionally tall stills, matured for 10 years in America White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and the fresh sea air with a further enhancement from the finest aged Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.
Jura Seven Wood
Ingeniously crafted from seven different oak types for a multi-layered flavour. A remarkable ingenuity defines the people of Jura; an ability to reimagine and reinvent that has allowed their distillery and its working community to thrive.
Such vision has brought to life this complex single malt – a fitting tribute to their Master Blender’s skill – having been shaped by seven separate Oak woods: first-fill ex-bourbon American White Oak, Vosges, Bertranges, Jupilles, Allier, Tronçais & Limousin barrels.
There’s more to Jura Single Malt Whisky than water, barley and yeast. A little bit of their island home, community and passion make it into every bottle.
