Just in Time for Summer:
La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé

Words: Crush

La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé, the latest addition to the incredible La Motte wine portfolio, is a celebration of French wine-making on South African soil. The 2021 La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé is an ode to and promise of joy, whether it comes to you by way of social gathering or a simple Sunday in the sun. A versatile yet elegant rosé, La Motte has created a marvel of South African wine that is easily enjoyed and promises to be a staple of summer.

Vin de Joie Rosé: French-style Wine with South African Flair

A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah, Vin de Joie Rosé has roots in France, but is brought to life by South African terroir and its biodiversity. Its subtle shades of salmon pink with hints of onion skin were inspired by one of South Africa’s true joys of biodiversity, the Blushing Bride or Serruria Florida.

The nose offers subtle, but well-defined melon, rose petal and nectarine with the charming notes of Turkish delight in the background.  The palate is polished and juicy on entry, with a refreshing acidity and lovely lingering nectarine on the aftertaste.

Recipe Pairings

This wine lends itself to Mediterranean-style platters, leafy salads and lightly smoked salmon. We’ve developed these four recipes to pair perfectly with this French-style rosé. Enjoy among friends at your next Sunday lunch, or simply treat yourself to a delicious meal, either way, we guarantee a joyful experience.
