Capetonians are known for hibernating when winter hits, retreating indoors and keeping things low-key. But Judds Supper Club offers a compelling reason to step out, bringing people together over hearty home-style cooking, thoughtfully chosen wines, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels more like a family gathering than a night out. It’s about supporting local, sharing stories, and reconnecting with your community around the table.
Introducing Judds Supper Club
The launch of Judds Supper Club, a monthly gathering with dates already set for May, June, and July, invites guests to experience dining in a more intimate and meaningful way. This new series centres on connection, with a relaxed, family-style format designed to bring people together over food and wine.

Guests are encouraged to engage with those around them as plates are shared and glasses are topped up. The menu evolves with the seasons and available produce, thoughtfully prepared by the kitchen team led by Erna – affectionately known as Ma Judd.
A Shared Table Experience & Thoughtful Wine Selections
At the heart of Judds Supper Club is a long-table setting where up to 20 guests gather for an evening of shared dishes and easy conversation. Hosted monthly, the experience is intentionally intimate – encouraging guests to pass plates, pour wine, and settle into the rhythm of a communal meal.

The wine offering at Judds Supper Club moves beyond rigid themes. Each selection is curated from producers the Judds team admire, alongside personal picks from Bryan Judd’s own cellar. The result is a dynamic, ever-changing line-up that reflects both expertise and instinct, adding a layer of discovery to every evening.
Seasonal, Comfort-Driven Menus
Food at Judds Supper Club follows a similar philosophy – rooted in South African flavours and guided by the seasons. Served family-style, each menu celebrates generous, comforting dishes designed to be shared, sparking both connection and conversation around the table.

Why Judds Supper Club Is Worth Leaving the House For
More than just a dinner, Judds Supper Club is about community. It’s an open table where good food, good wine, and genuine connection take centre stage – offering a refreshing alternative to winter isolation and a reminder of the joy of gathering.
