The Galileo Open Air Cinema, Cape Town’s beloved outdoor movie experience, is gearing up for another spectacular season under the stars. With over 100 iconic movies on the roster, this summer promises a line-up that wows, catering to every movie lover and all ages.

Mark those calendars! The Galileo Open Air Cinema summer movie line-up will run until the end of April 2024.

A Star-studded Summer Line-up

From heart-warming family classics to tear-jerker rom-coms, toe-tapping musicals, Bollywood, iconic cult classics and golden oldies, The Galileo Open Air Cinema offers the ultimate setting for an enchanting evening with friends, romantic date nights, birthday celebrations, family gatherings, and even end-of-year work parties.

As the team unveils this 12th star-studded season, The Galileo promises to whisk you away to some of the most breathtaking venues in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands. Weekdays will see screenings hosted at the picturesque Kirstenbosch Garden, while selected Fridays will light up Central Park in Century City. Saturdays are all about alternating Wine Estates across Paarl, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, and Somerset West.

Tickets can be purchased online, starting at just R140 per person. Weekdays commence at 18h00, and Saturdays at 17h00, with the movie starting after sunset.

The good news just keeps getting better with new seasonal specials on offer, aimed at enhancing the cinematic adventure and saving you a few ‘randelas’. For those celebrating birthdays, the Birthday Special ensures a free ticket in the week of your birthday. Seniors aged 60 and over can enjoy the Pensioner Discount Ticket* available every day of the week, except during special shows. Students from tertiary education institutions can also make use of the Student Discount Ticket* by redeeming a Varsity Vibe code.

The Galileo’s commitment to creating unforgettable experiences shines through in its special shows. From Easter Egg hunts and Christmas festivities to giant lawn games and themed décor, these shows are not to be missed!

• Christmas Eve (24 December 2023) Home Alone at Kirstenbosch Garden, Newlands.
• Christmas Day (25 December 2023): The Grinch at Kirstenbosch Garden, Newlands.
• Valentine’s Day (14 February 2024): The Proposal at Nooitgedacht Wine Estate, Stellenbosch.
• Easter Friday (29 March 2024): Peter Rabbit at Central Park, Century City.
