Make your Own DIY Microwave Popcorn
What you’ll need
½ C popcorn kernels
2 Tbsp (30 ml) oil *we use olive or avocado oil
salt to season
a brown paper bag
Place all of the ingredients into a small bowl and mix well. Transfer the mixture to the brown paper bag. Fold the top of the packet and scrunch to close it. Microwave the bag for 2:30 to 3:00 minutes, depending on the microwave wattage.
Hot tip: Do a test run first. All microwaves will require different timing and it’s better to under pop than to burn.
When the popping slows down, the popcorn is done. Take care not to burn yourself when opening the bag – the steam will escape and is very hot. Taste and add more salt if necessary.
Serve and enjoy!
