Bocca Restaurant
"Bocca serves Neapolitan pizza and authentic, fresh Italian food right in the heart of vibey Bree Street."
Bocca is the latest addition to Bree street, firmly cementing it as that the place for foodies of the city to dine. The building on the corner of Bree and Wale Streets has been transformed with cool wooden cladding and decking, giving it a sharp, modern look. This is carried through in the interior with funky lighting and accents. Split over two levels it is spacious and open, with a great view of the street and city life.
Owned by restaurateur Neil Grant of Burrata fame, the food is Italian, but in a dialed back and more relaxed fashion. With a menu of Neapolitan-style pizzas (cooked fast in a 485 degree oven) and  food for sharing, an unfussy wine list and a selection of beers, this is a great spot to enjoy quality food and relax with friends.
The food our table enjoyed was varied and included West Coast mussels in tomato broth, a mozzarella and walnut salad, a roasted chicken and avo panino, spinach and artichoke risotto, zucchini fries, and lamb meatballs. The quality of the food was excellent across the board – well made, full of flavour and fresh. The risotto was the stand out, packed with flavour and with just the right texture. It is simple food made well. The service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed; this is definitely a place that will be be full of patrons at any time of day, chilling and enjoying the vibe of the city centre.
Authentic Italian food in a trendy and slick environment.
