Description
Sausage rolls are almost always a favourite, and these are simply delicious!
Ingredients
6 large coarse-ground pork sausages
1 large handful chopped chives
1 tsp (5 ml) smoked paprika
1 small clove garlic, minced
2 eggs
1 C (250 ml) toasted coarse breadcrumbs
salt and milled black pepper
1 roll (400 g) ready-made puff pastry, thawed
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
Remove the sausage meat from the casings. Combine the meat, chives, paprika, garlic, 1 egg, breadcrumbs and seasoning, and mix together well.
Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface and divide into 6–8 rectangles. Beat the remaining egg and brush the outside edge of the pastry with the egg wash.
Divide the sausage mixture into 6–8 equal portions and place in the centre of the pastry rectangles. Fold over the pastry tightly to form rolls and brush the outside with the remaining egg wash.
Place the sausage rolls on a baking tray and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
