Remos Originale Undergoes a Revamp with delicious results. With its understated old world Italian charm and scrumptious Italian menu, Remos Originale has become a local favourite in Mount Edgecombe and beyond. The famiglia behind it made sure that a lot of love went into it when they opened in 2007. What started out at a small café with a limited menu has blossomed into a culinary empire, driven by passion, and that same love and thought has gone into the revamp of the original store. Also, although a new menu has been introduced, Renzo Scribante and his team have kept some ‘old favourites’ for people who just can’t say no to the much-loved Remos classics.

One of the most exciting additions to the bustling restaurant is the new ‘Pasta Factory’. Made fresh every day, you can order your favourite authentic home-made penne, tagliatelle, linguine, fusilli and spaghetti and take it home, or alternatively order it off the menu.  “We are on the brink of a revolution in pasta making,” explains Renzo.  “There is a very real opportunity to give customers a quality of pasta that is quite unsurpassed, that perfectly fits the growing demand for high quality, fresh, locally produced food.”

If your kids are your culinary companions, they will love the kids’ classes that are starting in September at the Pasta Factory. They will get to don a little chef’s apron, plus take home a kids’ pack, which you purchase on your first course. Classes are kept small – with a maximum of 10 kids per class – and there’s a dedicated teacher for every class. The good news is that these classes will run through the school holidays, so your little ones can have fun, while you enjoy some time out with an espresso and something delicious. Adult classes also will be introduced soon.

You can also look out for fresh pastries and artisan breads that will be brought in from Old Town every morning for customers to choose from, including the renowned and much-loved Remos Cronut.
