New Lunch Menu at the Butcher Shop & Grill

The Butcher Shop and Grill remains South Africa’s favourite ‘fine dining’ steakhouse since it’s opening almost 22 years ago. With a branch in Johannesburg (Nelson Mandela Square) and Cape Town (Mouille Point) there’s a whole lot of activity planned for winter, including a new lunch menu.

While The Butcher Shop has always offered a burger on their menu, this is the first time that an entire burger menu was developed. From Camembert and Avo or Mushroom and Blue Cheese; to Jalapeño and Cheese, they’ve got an exciting option for everyone.

Famous for their simple, honest and delicious grill style – The Butcher’s Burgers won’t disappoint.

The new burgers are packed with flavour and only the finest quality beef at generous portion sizes. The beef is sourced from their in-house butchery and handmade by their Master Butcher. Note that their famous burger patties can also be ordered directly from the Deli and Butchery, open from 9am to 11pm daily.

The new lunch menu boasts a variety of new dishes, carefully developed with their entire team. Think Pulled Pork Tacos (slow braised pork served with guacamole, sour cream, smoked chipotle chilli and sriracha sauce); Peri Peri Baby Chicken (spatchcock chicken generously marinated in their famous peri peri) or their delicious Lamb Kofta, served with tomato, cucumber, red onion, tzatziki and traditional pita bread. The new lunch menu ranges from R90.00 – R120.00 per dish and is available from 12:00 – 17:00 daily.

The Butcher Shop Butchery operates every day during the restaurant’s opening times for both Johannesburg and Cape Town. You can also pre-order and delivery is available in Cape Town for bulk orders.

Branded cooler bags and dry ice is also available for their traveling clients. The Butchery stocks only the finest quality meats from South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Tanzania and the USA (Colorado). The Butcher Shop and Grill prides itself in the authenticity and quality of their meats. Often waiting up to two months for clearance on their meat imports alone, it pays to know that their stock is never frozen, is always chilled and that all their meat is carefully aged in-house by their Master Butcher.

Their Wagyu is carefully selected from breeders in Australia and cuts with a marbling score of 8 and higher is guaranteed. You won’t find purebred Kobe-Style Wagyu anywhere else in Cape Town, and that’s a promise.

The seafood selection aims to impress with a wider range than any other in-house butchery. Don’t forget to try their Alaskan King Crab, The Mozambican Tiger Prawns or the Wild Oysters. One of the most popular dishes on the Butcher Shop menu is the Seared Salmon, so you won’t be disappointed by the seafood selection.
