Niels Verburg and his wife Penny are unabashed Luddites, and strong believers that technology and mechanisation will never be a substitute for passion. This is especially true when it comes to making wines, and their philosophy is accomplished with the making of Luddite wines.
They aim to make a wine that is ‘as natural as possible, with little or no intervention’. ‘It’s about knowing that when you buy a bottle of Luddite, what’s inside is genuine and made with integrity,’ says Niels.
