There are many jokes that can and have been made about this wine due to its name. In fact, it did start out as a party joke.
The truth is that Louis Nel wanted to make a big red wine that goes down easily and so ‘Titanic’ was born – the big wine that makes waves and doesn’t like ice.
It is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with grapes harvested at optimum ripeness. After pressing, the juice spent 7 days on the skins to extract colour and tannins.
On the nose: with the scent of lots of refreshing blackberries, subtle oak spice and a hint of vanilla.
On the palate: The red berries and plum follow through onto the palate and complement the soft chewy tannins, making it an easy-sipping wine with a lingering finish.
