Drinks to Start

Breakfast is served at Reubens for hotel guests but they welcome walk ins as well. This is no ordinary breakfast buffet, it truly caters for every taste possible. Kicking off with drinks, you can opt to start your day with some sparkle with a glass of local MCC. Alternatively, if you’re nursing last night’s indulgence, perhaps a bloody Mary or any one of the fresh fruit juices available.

The Healthy Section

There are fresh oysters if you’re feeling adventurous, or if you’re after something a little healthier, then make your way to the fruit and yoghurt bar. There are bowls of crunchy granola, fruits and yoghurts to build your own smoothie bowl, or you can opt for one of the divine bircher muesli jars or one of the yummy freshly made yoghurt parfaits. You may find it tough to pass up the incredible (but probably less healthy) yoghurt jars that come served in a cute Consol glass mug. They come in a few different flavours, some topped with honeycomb and decadent chocolate. They are crazy good.

A La Carte

If you’re after a full on fry up, select from the bacon, sausages, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes etc that are all on offer on the buffet, or you can choose a plated option from the a la carte menu. We highly recommend the new style bacon eggs Benedict, which is served with a brown butter Hollandaise – it is phenomenally good. There are so many items on the a la carte menu that you might find yourself torn between all the tasty sounding choices. There are waffle stacks, French toast, omelettes and more and all come presented beautifully.

Dining with Kids

If you’re dining with kids, Reubens at One&Only Cape Town Resort is an excellent choice, as they cater for littlies really well. There is a dedicated section just for kids with mini cereal boxes (what kid doesn’t love those?) milkshakes, yoghurts and waffles. These are no ordinary waffles mind you, they are the fluffiest Belgian-style waffles. The friendly kitchen staff will help kids load it up with cream, Nutella, chocolate, peanut butter and sprinkles – pretty much anything a young kid will want for breakfast. Plan a trip to a park directly afterwards to work off all that energy.

Don’t forget the pastries

Try to save space for the bread and pastry counter as well – here you’ll find bagels, croissants, pain au chocolats and danishes of every size, shape and flavour. Enjoy with a freshly brewed cappuccino while you take in the views of the marina outside.

If you’re looking for a more Mediterranean-style breakfast, Reubens at One&Only Cape Town Resort has got this covered too. There is a separate counter with lamb, pitas, breads and cheeses. Really, they’ve got it all.
