Francois Haasbroek became known as the winemaker for Waterford Estate and about 2 years ago, decided it was time to venture out on his own.
He had obviously been working on a few ideas already and entered the market with a serious bang. Every wine he has put his name to has been outstanding and somewhat different and interesting.
With this Pinot Noir he has proven that he knows his way around good grapes and how to turn them into great wine.
On the nose: beguiling aromas of truffle and black cherry, introduce a palate offering a gorgeous medley of bitter cherry melded with just ripe raspberries.
On the palate: it is tight, light and bright. the core of the wine is intense acidity and classically dry tannins.
