Mowtown Friday’s at Strolla

Words: Crush

The stylish sundowner spot, Strolla, perfectly located on Sea Point’s wind-free Platinum Mile, is extending Cape Town’s laid-back summer afternoons with their introduction of Motown Fridays. Enjoy the shimmering ocean views, delectable drinks to the sounds of resident DJ Ashton Abels, setting the tone at sunset.

“Strolla is more of a rendezvous spot than a typical eatery, therefore it was only natural to introduce a resident DJ, truly turning Fridays at Strolla into afternoons of summer revelry. Partygoers can sip on exotic cocktails while snacking on bespoke delicacies such as our famous Spicy Chicken Koftas, with the beat of DJ Abels pulsing in the background, creating the perfect setting to kick off your evening,” says restaurateur and owner, Brendon Crew.

Set to create the perfect summer ambience, R&B, hip hop, funk and deep house DJ Ashton Abels is one of SA’s most naturally gifted music producers. His talent has seen him travelling nationally, playing some of the biggest shows alongside international names such as Tiiesto, Steve Silk Hurley and Cut Creator to name a few. With a reputation for being a technical genius behind the decks, Ashton is forever developing and refining his craft which is evident in his level of flexibility and the quality he displays across music genres on both his Goodhope FM and Hashtag Radio shows.

Conveniently nestled between The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel and the Atlantic Ocean, along with its chic outdoor deck experience, Strolla presents a relaxing meeting spot with elegant interiors, reminiscent of the Mediterranean seaside.

So make it a summer to remember as you soak up the sun, the music and the vibe to the deep, soulful sounds of DJ Ashton Abels, live every Friday from 17h00 – 20h00.
