The Estate
The Waverley Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is produced on the Waverly Hills Estate, which is best known for producing organic wines with a unique style, extremely smooth with soft ripe tannins and robust fynbos characteristic. We also produce olives in brine, dried olives and a small amount of olive oil.
The Estate is situated between Tulbagh and Ceres, close to Wolseley, South Africa, at the foothills of the breathtaking Witzenberg Mountain Range. The fertile, yellow clay terrain is impregnated with river stones, resulting in well-drained soils with excellent water holding capacity.
All the vineyards are irrigated with pure spring water and are located on a natural watershed area. The area is renowned for its diverse fynbos (indigenous flora), giving the Waverley Hills Cabernet Sauvignon as well the other wines a unique herbaceous characteristic.
Waverley Hills, the award-winning producer of certified organic wines like cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and chardonnay and it is a thriving destination for lovers of wine, food and nature. Most of the 139-hectre property is occupied by mountain fynbos with 30ha under vineyard and 10ha used for the cultivation of olives.
Visitors who make their way to the estate can enjoy the Waverley Hills Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a selection of perfectly balanced organic wines that boast soft ripe tannins and robust fynbos characteristics or dine in the restaurant which serves the most delicious and seasonally inspired dishes in a relaxed country atmosphere. Waverley Hills is also a popular venue for weddings, business conferences & special functions.
