The Mary Delany Collection Pinot Noir
Pinot noir
Stellenbosch
2013
The owner of Botanica Wines, Ginny Poval writes: “The inspiration for the name of the wine and the design of the labels was a trip to Yale Center for British Art. An exhibition of Mary Delany’s work – a remarkable series of botanical collages, beautifully crafted with hundreds of tiny pieces of cut paper – was breathtaking.”
Following on, she continued to write “My farm was the first farm in South Africa to cultivate Protea flowers, so the labels bring together the history of the farm, my passion for art and hopefully a fine wine that lives up to the stunning artwork.”
Pairs well with: with a range of dishes from chicken to pork and even lamb.
On the nose: wild raspberry scent with a hint of spice. welcomes you on the nose.
On the palate: a delicate style with layers of cherry and soft tannin structure, ensures that the wine has a good acidity, showing a floral lift on the finish.
