Kristen’s Kick-Ass Ice Cream

best ice cream in Cape Town
In the idyllic setting of the Noordhoek Farm Village is Kristen Batzer-Buttress and her kick-ass ice cream. Based on an idea of childhood-inspired flavours and combinations, Kristen is scooping up classic flavours like chocolate, made with 70% dark chocolate and cocoa, vanilla and salted caramel but also has unusual combinations like Earl Grey and Cherry, where the cherry lifts the floral, delicate Earl Grey flavour. We were done in by a tub of Toasted Coconut, Milk Chocolate and Almond, with its buttery, sweet and crunchy combination – outstanding. If you can’t get out to Noordhoek, grab yourself a tub from any local specialist grocer, like Tamboerswinkel in Gardens.

Crumbs and Cream

Crumbs & Cream
The Crumbs and Cream concept brings together two of the most delicious things – giant cookies and creamy ice cream. Co-founders, Shahar Ben Artzi and Or Lahat, have created a sensation at their Sea Point store with their delectable cookies, colourful toppings and overall fun vibe. Pick two cookies – it’s tough with so many choices such as Oreo, rainbow and even vegan, then your ice cream… think Caramel Fudge, Choc Mint or Yogi Berry, then go crazy with toppings and spreads. It’s a full-on sugar rush for sure, but you can wander down the Sea Point Promenade as you tuck in and work off the calories as you walk.
