Riebeek Cellars Pieter Cruythoff Brut Sparkling Wine is extra dry, but maintains a fruity nose of tropical fruit and biscuit flavours. It has a low alcohol content of 10% making it the perfect aperitif to sip while enjoying light canapés such as sushi and salads.

If you are wondering why the name… Pieter Cruythoff was dispatched by Jan van Riebeek in search of a fertile area for the Dutch East India Company to farm. It was he who originally discovered the lush soils of the Riebeek Valley and this range of wines is named in his honour.

This lightly seared tuna recipe with oriental flavours is ideal as a starter or main on a warm summer’s day, served with Riebeek Cellars Pieter Cruythoff Brut Sparkling Wine.

On the nose: dry with complex tropical fruit and biscuit flavours.

On the palate: crisp and acidic which makes for a fresh, clean and drinkable sparkling wine.
