Turmeric Latte (Golden Milk)

2 C (500 ml) milk or milk alternative of your choice (soy, unsweetened almond, rice or coconut milk)
1 tsp (5 ml) ground cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp (30-45 ml) honey (to taste)
2 Tbsp (30 ml) coconut oil
1 knob of ginger finely grated or microplaned, or 1 tsp (5 ml) ground ginger
seeds of half a vanilla pod or one pump of a vanilla seed paste
Place the milk in a saucepan, add all the rest of the ingredients and heat through. If you use grated ginger or fresh turmeric root and don’t want the bits, you will need to strain through a fine sieve.
If you have a milk frother (a French press can also be used), remove a portion of the liquid from a saucepan and froth. Pour the remaining heated liquid equally into two serving mugs and then top up with the frothed milk. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon if preferred and serve immediately.
