
Sweet and Salty Bacon Canapés
This recipe for sweet and salty bacon canapés are a real crowd pleaser and go perfectly with an ice cold beer.

Ingredients
1 packet (250 g) streaky bacon
1 mango, peeled and sliced
1 pineapple, cored and sliced
pitted dates
wooden skewers, soaked in water
brown sugar, for sprinkling
Method
Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Lightly grease a baking tray.
Halve the bacon lengthways. Alternately place the mango and pineapple slices and the dates on to the skewers. Twist a length of bacon around the fruit and hold in place with a toothpick.
Arrange the skewers on the greased baking tray and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the fruit has caramelised.
