Potato Gratin Recipe

This incredibly easy potato gratin recipe is super tasty!

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled
  • sea salt and freshly milled black pepper
  • grated nutmeg
  • 2 C (500 ml) low-fat cream
  • handful of chives, finely chopped
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease an ovenproof dish.

Cut the potatoes into very thin slices (I find that a mandolin works best.) Arrange the potato slices in the prepared dish so that they form a layer and overlap slightly. Repeat the process until you have used all the slices.

Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour the cream over the potatoes and top with the chopped chives and a layer of grated Parmesan.

Place in the oven and bake for 45–60 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the top has browned.

Serve with chicken, lamb, beef or fish.
