Ingredients
Wontons
250 g Findus Wok Thai
1 tsp (5 ml) crushed garlic
1 tsp (5 ml) ginger, finely grated
2 Tbsp (30 ml) Hoisin sauce
60 g ricotta cheese, crumbled
salt & freshly ground pepper
15 squares of wonton pastry
oil for deep-frying
Sauce
2 Tbsp (30 ml) grapefruit juice
1 spring onion, thinly sliced
Method
Wontons
Heat a wok until warm. Add the oil and Findus Wok Thai. Stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the garlic, ginger and Hoisin sauce. Fry for another 3 minutes. Add the cheese and season to taste. Allow the filling to cool slightly.
Brush the edges of each wonton square with a little water. Add a teaspoonful of the filling in the centre of each wonton square and then pinch the sides together to form a little pyramid shape.
Heat the oil up to 180 °C. Fry the wontons off for 1-2 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towel.
Sauce
Stir all of the ingredients together to combine.
Serve the wontons hot with dipping sauce on the side.
Tip: Wonton wrappers can be found at Chinese supermarkets. Alternatively, you can change this dish into spring rolls if it is easier for you to find spring roll pastry.
