The bigger the hamburger the better! This Dagwood Burger will satisfy the healthiest appetite

Combine the mince, spring onions and salt and pepper in a bowl and mix together. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties about 15 cm across and 4–5 cm thick.
Braai the burgers over hot coals or in a hot griddle pan, brushing occasionally with the marinade. Cook each side for 4–5 minutes.
Assemble the burgers between the buns and top each with an egg, some cheese, bacon, tomato, onion and gherkins.
