There are days in summer that call for a red wine and even though the weather may be hot, there are options which can be enjoyed. Grenache, for example is the perfect wine; it is medium-bodied and can even be enjoyed chilled.

It is most commonly used in Mediterranean-style blends along with varieties such as Shiraz and Mourvédre. It is suited to warmer climates similar to the south of France and some areas in Stellenbosch and the Swartland.

On the nose: the wine has fresh bright fruit, cherries and raspberries with white pepper

On the palate: medium bodied in style, it has great texture and mouth feel and a long finish. good structure with a lingering savouriness on the aftertaste.
